Dear Uniondale Families and Staff,
We are writing to inform you about a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a third-party service provider used by the District. On December 28, 2024, unauthorized access was gained to certain systems, potentially exposing personal information.
Impacted Information:
Families: Potential exposure of student names, phone numbers, addresses, medical and grade information, as well as parent/guardian names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
Staff: Potential exposure of names, phone numbers, addresses, and Social Security numbers.
Actions Taken by PowerSchool:
Revoked compromised credentials.
Strengthened password policies and other security measures.
Engaged external cybersecurity experts.
Notified law enforcement and launched a thorough investigation.
How We're Responding:
We are working closely with PowerSchool to monitor the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
