Parents/Students
In accordance with the Regulations of Education, the Uniondale School District has the goal of providing all students with disabilities a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).
The Uniondale School District engages in a continuous process of public awareness activities, screening and evaluation to locate, identify and refer young children who may have a disability as early as possible.
The Uniondale School District provides a wide range of special education programs and services designed to help each student realize his/her educational potential. We offer a continuum of special education services providing students with disabilities the least restrictive environment. Special Education services range from related services specified in a student’s Individual Educational Plan to placement in an appropriate program. A primary focus is to ensure students with disabilities meet local and Regents requirements for a high school diploma or a SACC or Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Commencement Credential may continue to attend secondary level classes until they are 21 years of age.
