The Uniondale Union Free School District regrets to announce that Board Trustee Ms. Carol Eason has submitted her resignation, effective immediately. Ms. Eason has been a dedicated member of the Board for the past five years, during which she served with distinction in several key roles, including as vice president during the 2021-2022 school year and as co-chair of the Board’s policy committee for two years.
In a letter addressed to the Uniondale community, Dr. Mary Bediako, President of the Board of Education, expressed heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for Ms. Eason’s unwavering commitment to the Uniondale community and the well-being of its students. Dr. Bediako emphasized the significant contributions Ms. Eason made to the district, noting her leadership and dedication during her tenure on the Board.
The Board of Education will discuss the next steps in filling the open Board seat in the coming weeks. Further updates will be provided to the community as these discussions progress. In the meantime, the district wishes Ms. Eason all the best in her future endeavors and thanks her for her exceptional service.
As the new school year approaches, the Uniondale Union Free School District looks forward to welcoming students back on September 3rd, 2024.
