MY BROTHER’S KEEPER

On October 1, 2021 Uniondale was accepted as a New York State Education Department recognized My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Community.  This recognition comes with the commitment to execute programs and strategies designed to improve outcomes for boys and young men of color, and all youth to help realize their full potential.  We look forward to working with students, alumni, families and community-based organizations to implement the goals and objectives of our MBK Community Action Plan.

MBK Steering Committee Meeting – January

Dr. Bilal Polson, Principal of Northern Parkway, and Brian Bruno, Principal of California Avenue, are part of a dedicated committee focused on ensuring students reach grade-level reading proficiency by third grade, a critical milestone for academic success.

MLK Day March

Students participated in the Martin Luther King Day walk on January 19th in Roosevelt. The event was powerful and educational for our students. This is our second year participating in the walk. The reason we have them participating is for them to understand how Martin Luther King Jr. used the power of civil engagement to help people.
